zMatch?
Remember how when you were a little kid your mom would always tell you that you shouldn’t play with matches? Well, my mother and my grandmother always told me that. But now I am a grown man and that outdated advice is no longer useful. Listening to it would prevent me from playing the Softeq-developed game zMatch and that would be a shame because this game is quite entertaining.
zMatch is a match-three game, but with a twist. In a traditional match three game the pieces stay in place – in this game they do not. Triangles and circles and other shapes fall from above. But when they reach the bottom of the screen, they don’t stay in place. If you tilt your device the pieces will move.
Your aim is to match three or more of the same pieces – get three triangles to be next to each other for example. When they’re next to each other they will light up; just tap them to remove them. For this you will be rewarded with points, grenades, and dynamite. When the dynamite explodes, the pieces bounce around pushed by the blast. I quite liked that.
“But George, where is the part about playing with matches?” some of you may be thinking right about now. I had to get the gameplay presentation out of the way to get to the matches. Since I’ve already done that, let’s put the spotlight on the matches: you can add matches and light them for more time (lengthen the fuse that’s burning in the left hand side) and bonus points. Just tap the match from the upper left hand corner of the screen to throw it in.
